Broadcast Architecture® is kicking it up a notch in their morning show presentation for both their Smooth AC™ and Smooth Jazz Network®. Beginning on January 3, 2011 veteran radio personality Sandy Kovach will host the daily network morning show along-side music icon Kenny G. The new morning program will be heard weekdays from 6AM to 10AM on both of BA’s networks.
Sandy Kovach shared: “I really can’t put into words what it means to be paired with Kenny G, a worldwide superstar who has achieved excellence on so many levels -- and yet remains humble and cares so much about his fans and the community. Joining Broadcast Architecture’s Smooth AC Radio Networks is certainly a high point, both for my career and personally. This is going to be fun!”
Recent Grammy nominee Kenny G checked in from his current holiday tour: “It’s been so cool to be part of the on-air team since the beginning of both the Smooth Jazz and Smooth AC networks… I am thrilled to be teaming up with Sandy Kovach on the new daily morning show. We’re going to have lots of fun and we’ll be sharing some great music too… What could be better?!”
BA President Allen Kepler stated: “This is further evolution for both of our networks. We’re all very excited to increase Kenny’s participation, and bringing a pro like Sandy on board for the morning show is huge as we move into a new era of adult targeted radio. The recent growth we’ve seen in our new Smooth AC Network provides the perfect launching point for the new morning show, and our many Smooth Jazz Network affiliates are excited as well. Sandy and Kenny are both bright and positive personalities and will provide the perfect morning show.”
Current network morning host, recording artist Brian Culbertson has recently released a new CD called “XII” and will exit at year’s end to focus on his music career.
Broadcast Architecture, for 20 years the world’s leading Smooth Jazz programming, research and consulting firm, launched the Smooth Jazz Network in January of 2007. Earlier this year BA launched a new radio format they call Smooth AC™. The new format is taking hold in several PPM markets across the US. Their Smooth AC Radio Networks, including the Smooth Jazz Network programming is heard in over 30 markets throughout the U.S. and worldwide.
Broadcast Architecture also operates as one of the world’s leading research firms working with radio stations in ALL formats across the US and over a dozen countries worldwide.
