I have a very talented Grandson who is a senior this year in Michigan. He was awarded with an award for most excellence in his chosen instrument and also the John Sousa Philips award. He has been accepted to Central Michigan University and has received several scolarships. He was accepted on site for the Central Michigan Marching Band and the Concert Band which usually the students are notified by mail or e-mail of their acceptance or rejection. The panel said at the time of his audition "Oh yes, we want you." Keefer plays the alto, soprano, tenor and bari saxophones. The problem is his father was laid off a year and a half ago, he has two older brother at different universities and because his father has been able to keep their heads above water by taking in odd jobs they have not lost their home. They were told if they were in foreclosure he would have many funds available to him but not if they were not totally destitute.
Does anyone out there know of any additional scholorships available to a wonderful musician? He carries a 3.9 gpa, is highly recommended by his band director and is in need of a little help. Thanks
