I'm pretty excited about the release of my new CD. It is coming out in a couple of days. I'm writing this on Sunday June 27. I'm on an American Airlines flight at the moment and using there new GOGO wireless internet connection thing. It's pretty cool. I usually am to busy to sit down and type blog stuff so this is perfect because I can't go anywhere and I can get things done. I wish there was a way to connect with all the people that like my music. I know that those of you who are reading this are pretty computer savvy etc....and you guys aren't intimidated by websites, downloading..etc... but I think a majority of my "fans" are more "mature" and probably don't feel the same about downloading. They ( like me ) like to hold a CD in my hand, read the notes..etc..look at the physical picture...so since there are very few record stores around these days, it is difficult for people who want the physical CD to get them. And ordering on line and waiting for it to get shipped doesn't give them the instant satisfaction that one get's when buying something at a store. So.....how can I convince my audience that it is OK to download the music. that they will get instant gratification and have the music on their computer instantly!! This is my challenge....But I hope that those of you who would like the CD will order it from my store directly. Much better for me and I will also autograph it as well. Yes, it will take a little longer to get than going to Amazon, but if you go to my website, it means that I can keep in contact with you and make sure that those who are supporting me get the best deals on anything that I've got going, like concert tours, new music, pictures....etc..saxophones..etc.. All good. A win-win for sure, so if you are on the fence about how to get my new music....do it from my online store and that way we can stay connected. And if  you guys like the new CD, please Facebook, Twitter..blog...etc..and let all your friends and subsequently their friends know about it...and who knows..maybe this technology will actually translate into more people being able to be exposed to my music!!

Q&A WITH KENNY

My son plays the alto sax and we just bought “Easy Solo for Sax by Kenny G.” Do you have music that is for alto sax only? The music in the book seems to be in a different key than what his Yamaha is. Please let us know.

A- Most of my music is written for the sax that I play mostly which is soprano. I don't think I have it yet for Alto Sax. This is definitely something that I should do so thanks for bringing it to my attention. 

 

Can Kenny's saxophone be sold to China. How can I buy the sax in china?

Is there any Canadian website to buy the concert ticket for July 3 at the Metro Toronto Convention Center in Toronto, Canada?

A- I HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT THAT. SORRY.......CAN YOU CALL THE CONVENTION CENTER AND ASK HOW TO GET TICKETS' ON LINE?? WISH I COULD HELP MORE ON THIS.

I was just wondering if there was a recording done of a show in Toledo, Ohio at the Stranahan? It took place a few years ago. My father who died of pancreatic cancer almost two years ago went to that show and my mother would love a copy.

A- WE DON'T RECORD EVERY SHOW AND  I HAVE ASKED ABOUT THAT PARTICULAR SHOW AND NO ONE IN MY ORGANIZATION HAS THAT ONE. BUT MY LIVE DVD IS PRETTY MUCH THE SHOW THAT YOU WOULD HAVE SEEN THAT NIGHT.

 

Will there be sales of your album that will be released in June on your tour in Accra, Ghana and for how much?

A- I THINK I WILL BE BRINGING THAT CD WITH ME FOR SALE AT THE CONCERT. WE USUALLY CHARGE ABOUT 20-25 USD FOR OUR CD'S ON TOUR. AND I USUALLY SIGN THEM IF I HAVE TIME. 

 

I bought the Album Miracles. Recently, my son joined a school project about school bullying. He wants to use the music “Spring Breeze” in his video. Please inform me how to get the authorized/consent in writing from Kenny G. URGENT!

A- IT IS AWESOME. THANKS!! THE SONG CAME OUT SO GOOD. IT'S ON THE RADIO NOW AND I'M SO PROUD OF THE WAY THAT HIS VOICE AND MY SAX CONNECT.

Can you do circular breathing on alto and tenor saxes? I own an alto and I want to save up for a vintage sax someday. I already know how I want to sound on tenor saxophone. I listen to a lot of jazz.

A- YOU CAN CIRCULAR BREATH ON ANY SAX, TRUMPET, TROMBONE...ETC.... IT'S MUCH HARDER ON THE BIGGER INSTRUMENTS BECAUSE IT TAKES MORE AIR. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE  A SOFT REED....MAKES IT EASIER.

 

Hello. How regularly do you have to keep your alto/tenor/or soprano sax to get them to be repaired? I am just curious. Who is your saxophone repairman?

A- I GET MY HORNS DONE ABOUT EVERY 6 MONTHS. I USE JAY WORKS IN LOS ANGELES. HE IS GREAT AND ALSO A GREAT TENOR PLAYER

 

Last year, my wife and I saw your concert in Cheyenne, Wyoming. My wife, Carol, was the lucky winner of the Kenny G saxophone. Unfortunately, a house guest placed something next to the case and damaged it. Is it possible to get a replacement case?

Hi Kenny! I have to ask you a question. Until what year was Bruce "Boo Boo" Carter drumming in your band? I miss the way he used to play those drums. He was a very unique drummer. Those were the days.

A- I AGREE. HE PASSED AWAY ABOUT 4 YEARS AGO . HE IS ALWAYS MISSED AS WE WERE FRIENDS FOR OVER 20 YEARS
